Movie: Why did I get married - Tyler PERRY

My vote: 4,5/5

Well, the fact that Why did I get married is filmed in Pemberton and that you actually can see A LOT of Pemberton is impacting in the note, I must admit.

But the movie in itself deserves a 3,5 out of 5. The drama: 4 couples are meeting in a chalet for a snowy week-end. The couples have been married for a while, and we are going to see where love got them after all these years.

They all have different troubles: the first couple lost a kid in a car accident, and the husband is secretly blaming his wife for the accident. In the second couple the wife is working too much, and after having one daughter, she doesn't want to hear about another child. The wife in the third couple is an alcoholic and drives her husband ashamed, this latter having an ex-wife to deal with on top of it. And finally, the last couple: the husband doesn't love his wife anymore because she is too fat. Instead he is having an affair with a young girl.

Different problems, different solutions. This movie tries to understand and answer the troubles couples can face. Of course, communication is the main solution :D

I liked this movie because it implies not only one couple but four ! And the end is completely inexpected for all of the couples, not like in a "normal" romantic comedy. Janet JACKSON being a big name in the movie is actually not the main character, and Jill SCOTT deserves a double applause, she really is a good actress !

Movie: Michael MOORE - Sicko

My vote: 4/5

Yes, Michael MOORE is back. After his extra famous Farenheit 9/11, here is another documentary putting the finger where it hurts (litterally): Sicko.

Sicko is about the big failure that the American Health Insurance system is. The message is pretty simple: in USA, doctors are better paid if they don't save people, and if they deny health care to people in need. And then Michael MOORE goes around the world to see if in the other countries it's the same.

He went to Canada, UK, France, and Cuba, and showed that everywhere, health is free for everybody, where in USA you've got to pay big bucks to get only one for your fingers sewed back (because you can't afford to pay for two fingers).

Well, I must say, in Canada, health might be free, but not really. Dental are outrageously expensive for a start, not to mention get a pair of glasses. In UK and France the system is different, and yes, it's free.

In fact, in France, you must pay first, and then the government gives you your money back (around 70% of it). And you need to pay for a complementary if you really want to get full coverage (and refund). And they sure don't ask any victim for "approval" before any surgery or medical transportation. They do what is best for the victim.

I would recommend you Sicko, but just remember that Michael MOORE only shows what he wants to show, so not everything is exactly like he says. But it's always good to see somebody actually talking about it and saying "we've got a BIG problem", and pointing to the corrupted government and the big money companies who only care about... money.

Movie: Surf Up

My note: 5/5
What a nice animated movie!! It's about Surf, it's about fulfilling your dreams, it's about standing your ground and be brave.

It's a movie made with the help of real surfers, and that's cool because you have the ambiance, you see the way they talk, you understand the way they feel, you feel part of it. Ok, I know, it's a movie for kids normally, but you can watch it if you are an adult too, there's nothing boring in it!

I like the idea of making it as a documentary on a young penguin surfer, Cody. You have interviews, and the cameramen are part of the movie (being killed a couple of times in the movie ;)) And the chicken is sooo space, you can't help laughing at him!

Movie: Super Size Me

5/5
+: the idea of the experimentation, the "insurances" of proof and following that Morgan is taking (doctors, nutrionist, coach), you don't get bored in the middle of the movie, the figures and the study behind the experimentation, the good questions asked and their answers.

-: the surgery part: beuurk quelle horreur !!

Everybody has heard about Super Size Me,the anti-McDonald's movie. I heard about it too, but I never had the opportunity to watch it. Sunday night, the TV gave me this occasion.

What a great documentary ! I don't know if Morgan, the main character, had a big team behind him or not, but the way the movie is presented, everything is perfect. Having the advice from three different doctors, and seeing a nutrionist and a physic coach at the same time. And all the figures an facts listed in the movie. Everything is made to make sure that the results can be trusted. There is no way to prove the experimentation is a joke.

And of course, the results are unbelievable. I can't believe Morgan really went all the way to the end and didn't stop in the middle, seeing how bad everything was turning. This guy is really stubborn, which goes in his favor in that case.

Bref, si vous n'avez pas encore vu le film, louez-le ou empruntez-le à un ami. Et blOp, arrête de manger ces trucs, c'est vraiment pas bon pour ta santé !!!

THE vidéo !!

Here is the video I made from the family paragliding flight we did in June, when my parents and my sister came to visit me.

Comme ça vous voyez un peu où j'habite, pour les gens qui sont loin ;)
